Spécimen typographique pour le caractère Preissig Antikva. La légende dit que ce caractère à l’histoire un peu mystérieuse aurait été gravé dans du linoléum, d’où son aspect très découpé. Il n’a pas de belles courbes harmonieuses, mais reste authentique, atypique et curieux. J’ai cherché à rappeler ses origines, c’est-à-dire l’atelier de gravure et de typographie, l’encre qui tâche, qui noircit tout ce qu’elle touche, bien loin de la création typographique numérique, très propre et aseptisée en comparaison.

Type specimen for the Preissig Antikva typeface. Legend has it that this typeface has been carved into linoleum, hence its angular shapes. It might not have beautiful, harmonious curves, but has something authentic and deeply atypical. This specimen stays close to the font’s origins, the printing workshop, the ink staining anything it comes in contact with, far away from contemporary digital type design.
